What We Believe Baptist Can Still Mean
- generous, fun, inclusive, thoughtful, respectful, nice, non-judgmental
- still loving to eat together ... with a particular fondness for desserts
- celebrating the highly particular contexts of local churches

- valuing each person's individual conversation with God and with that person's faith tradition
(soul competency)
- supporting the ministry of each Christian
(priesthood of all believers)
- working for freedom for religions from the state within faithful participation in the political process
(separation of church and state)
- committed to baptizing those who can articulate what they know of themselves in relationship to all they know of God
(believer's baptism)
- worshipping regularly and practicing worship as a way of life
- affirming the priority of Scripture
- acknowledging sin and God's ongoing work of redeeming
- appreciating and sharing the story of Jesus
- not automatically of any particular social, theological or political perspective
